NETWORK NEWS: Survey Results Are In

Dear Clubhouse community,

Over the course of the last two years, The Clubhouse Network has carried out two important evaluations of Clubhouse participants, one focused on current members (the Youth Impact Survey) and another on former members (the Alumni Analysis). We now have the pleasure of sharing the findings, insights, and recommendations from both of these.

Conducted by a third-party evaluator, the Youth Impact Survey was completed by 1,012 members from 17 different countries, The Alumni Analysis drew on a survey of 195 alumni representing 67 Clubhouses across 18 different countries, as well as five alumni focus groups. Both provided an opportunity to hear from Clubhouse members how their lives have been influenced by their Clubhouse experience.

You can find the full reports (including a brief Executive Summary!) on Clubhouse Connect.

Both current and former members reported that by participating in Clubhouses, they:

  • increased their capacity to collaborate, create and learn
  • increased their resiliency in making mistakes and facing challenges
  • improved their overall outlook on life
  • developed greater clarity about their vocational interests and careers
  • became more committed to their education
  • developed greater fluency in working with technology and digital media
  • found a space in which they experienced community, belonging, and safety

Both reports are rich with recommendations and food for thought, and we look forward to your insights, comments, and questions. There will be an opportunity for discussion at Wednesday’s “Community Conversations” session at the Annual Conference. Or, feel free to reach out to me personally to discuss implications and plans for the future.

Thanks to all of the youth and alumni who participated in this work, and to all of you for supporting this effort!
